I presume you have searched PRO (TNA then) for any references?

There is very little in the Ox & Bucks War Chronicles for that date.

Nope Andy, have to check their WDs on that, but maybe 52nd can provide me with that I hope.

Philip - I've got you the war diary. I'll post it on here tomorrow when I've sorted it out from the other 600+ diary pages I took today.

Is it just that one day you're after?

Correctly dated extracts (plus the incorrect ones!) and extracts from a damned good map of positions and German defences near Groesbeek and Reichswald (Dated Feb '45) on a CD and on it's way to you now, Philip!

    Hi everybody,

I am going to restore a 42 Willys Jeep and since my parents came from Winterswijk I would like to make it a "53rd Welsh division" jeep.

I also read the above mentioned books and thus Winterswijk was liberated by the 71st Infantry Brigade and especially the following Battalions:
    1st Ox&Bucks
    1st HLI
    4th RWF
and additionaly the 53rd Recce Corps.

Does anybody have any jeep-pictures of these troops, where the divisional signs can be seen?

I would be very gratefull for help, because jeep-pictures seem to be very rare.

    Thanks in advance.
    Han
