Please delete this if it's not allowed. I would be interested to know which battalion and what rank if anyone can tell from this photo of my grandfather. It's WW1 which is why I suspect it won't be allowed. Thank you.
I'll open the bidding with Royal Artillery. The bandolier and breeches might suggest a Driver (of horses).
Royal Artillery without a shadow of a doubt. Cross belt/bandolier was standard as was the White Lanyard on the left shoulder. Changed to the right shoulder by WW2. Taken before he left Blighty for the front. Malvern Battery Ammunition Train (no guns, 2 limbers) taken circa 1920 The Regt was later renamed 67th Field Regt RA TA Still used the same equipment and uniforms from WW1 where they fought in Italy. I might wander over to the GWF from time to time, as I researched our extended family trees some years ago. I have many of their Service Records, Medal Cards etc as they have been available on line for some time. All the details including soldiers effects were released in 2016.
