Amongst several documentaries on ww2tv on YouTube I've watched recently I particularly liked this

Superb documentary about the everyday experience of combat soldiers in WW2, focusing on British & American servicemen. As the title says, sheer misery.

This weekend I watched the film 'Resistance' from 2020. Largely about the activities Marcel Marceau during World War 2: Very much a tale of a French Jew who fought in the Resistance and also helped to organise evacuation of Jewish children from Occupied France into Switzerland, though Marcel's talents as a mime artist feature.
The release of the film in Spring 2020 unfortunately coincided with the Covid 19 pandemic with little chance to be screened at cinemas.
    Certainly worth watching.

Just watched a film via Youtube set in Occupied Belgium titled 'A Woman at War' (1991), apparently based on a book titled 'Inside the Gestapo ' by Helene Moskiewiez . A young Jewish woman in Brussels links up with the Resistance and as a fluent German speaker, infiltrates the Gestapo. Not to be confused by 'Woman at War' which is different film.

Quite gripping and unpredictable. Interesting take on the issue of collaboration.

I had never heard of this raid before.
What were the odds in finding success with just the train itself.?
    10 Million to One.?

I cannot believe they were able to pull this off.
    Amazing..!!!

Looking at Amazon Prime found 'We Were Comrades The End ' ( German language - with English subtitles)
"Based on the true story of Hellmut Böttger (born 1923), a Wehrmacht Soldier on the Eastern Front, the film depicts a simple soldier's experiences during the last year of World War II. It closely follows Hellmut and his friend Heinrich on their way from Obol in June 1944 into US-captivity and the "Rheinwiesen camps". It tells of battles and beliefs but also of comradeship, friendship and respect "
Depicts the German retreat from Soviet territory and further west in 1944-1945 and there are some scenes of US servicemen ill treating German PoW's. I don't think that it is a classic movie by any means and I am not really familiar with this particular aspect of World War 2 but interesting....worth a look .
