This is from a WW2 report (54th Anti-Tank Regiment) and I don't know what this "C.W." means. It could I suppose be the man's initials but it seems somewhat unlikely because no one else's initials are given. Any ideas?
Is it not just his initials? there was a Charles William Cheesley 1122449 in the RA - he is listed in casualty lists as A/L/Bdr but doesn't give his actual unit
I agree. It could simply be that the typist put initials for that one time and then didn't bother with initials for the rest of the report. Sometimes initials (or even partial army numbers) were included if there were two or more individuals of the same surname in the unit.
