Amongst other photos from a couple of books I hadn't looked at in an age.

Some I don't doubt will have been up before, others I'm not so sure about.

Looks like several workers are wearing their old army hats

 

Looking at Dave's post above reminded me how the Nazi regime having an economy in deficient of the Allies attempted to breach the gap requisitioning manpower from their occupied territories

In the photograph shown the workers on the line look to be normal civilian workers probably taken immediately postwar. During the war, labour resource was entirely different, forced labour by Eastern Europe POWs and civilians from occupied countries underpinned the German wartime economy.

A couple of articles revisit that particular European era...times remembered by some who may be still with us.
