A mate of mine who lives on the Isle of Wight has sent me photos of this huge carrier that is visiting Portsmouth.
He says there are boat trips to see it that last two & a half hours , although there is a 150 metre exclusion zone around it. Cost £25.

Anyone planning going down to see it or have already ?

We should all be grateful we have a Navy just at the moment, even if it does take orders from another country. In the meantime, the Prince of Wales carrier which broke down in August after leaving Portsmouth harbour is at Rosyth being mended ( I hope.) If the USS Gerard R. Ford tried to enter Portsmouth harbour it would get stuck. I can recommend a trip to Portsmouth Harbour railway station with a return ticket to the Isle of Wight. You get off the train and pass by the ticket collection end of the platform, turn left, walk down a ramp, and get on a ferry for Ryde. A marvellous change of scenery. Great views. Much grander exit than arriving at Waterloo station back in London. I won't be visiting whilst the US Navy is there, more's the pity.
