    Does anyone have any pictures or information on the B.E.F's use of Upgraded 1908 Pattern Webbing?

    Not the original 08 Webbing but the 08 Webbing that had the converted Mk.I pouches attached to it?

    For those lost/confused/unaware the Army tried to prolong the service life of the 08 Webbing by converting a lot of the Mk.I Basic Pouches to have 08 Webbing rear buckles and haversack fittings.

    That's a new one on me! I've seen a few photos of 1908 Pattern in use ca. 1940, but don't think I've ever seen 1908 Pattern with '37 Pattern type ammo pouches attached.

    Curious topic mate, was this a job by local stores due to a mishmash of issued kit - or something far more official?

    I'm lead to believe it was official but more for second line and TA units.

    Hi Andy,

    The topic is covered extensively on this page on Karkeeweb;
    Pattern 1908 Web Equipment

    Hope that helps,
    All the best,
