No, no follow-up or mop-up forces were deployed. The use of the MOAB was partly a bit of pay back for the Special Forces soldier that was KIA last week, or so the news reports. We already have troops there engaged with the fight with ISIS and the Taliban. So far there have been no indications of any further deployments, but of course all that could change from moment to moment.
I'm increasingly convinced that the G43 has no particular purpose other than being a smidge bigger than Grand Slam, with a delivery system barely one notch up from the barrel bomb and a particular effectiveness against unhardened - i.e. civvy - buildings that is so last century. Do we know what the filling is? Is it designed to shatter or heave, or is it simply cheap, dense and flashy enough for good footage?
Trump is just showing off his new toys to impress N Korea. My bombs are bigger than your bombs. Just waiting for the reaction.
The bomb is not new its been around for a number of years it just required the correct place to use it. MOAB strike: US bombing of IS in Afghanistan 'killed dozens' - BBC News
Just a thought, why have the people traffickers not been seen to? Also, most of these different refugees have no passport! ( Most of them come from lots of Country's). Oops, lets keep open the borders with no checks. My bomb is larger than you'res. Can we not drop one on these traffickers? Headless chickens are of no use to anyone.
We are definitely on the same page... I've seen a number of documentaries/news items, which were sympathetic to the plight of the refugees, where it was commonplace for the male refugees to have left their wife and children back in Syria with no hope of bringing them 'over'. So, their families are left in harm's way and they have fled probably never to return. This is contrary to what you and I would do. What sort of refugees are these? What do they hold precious? What would they fight for? What would they be willing to die for? Do they believe in anything?

The surprise element of dropping it out of a transport aircraft should not be underestimated..."The prophet be praised, they have pushed out a pallet of essential food supplies and we shall be able to capture it.....Oh Bugger !"
Going back to my query on ground troops. Any news on Afghan Army going in ? Ok to drop a bomb but that doesnt mean that cave complex has been cleared out.
Oh happy memory. Though they've since been banned, and bonfire night became a greyer, less adrenaline-fuelled time. Owen, Nicholson now being quoted as saying it was all about tactical issues, so I'm sure there'll eventually be the usual pics of large, bearded western men zipping about in humvees and Toyota's in amongst more indigenous chaps. Though such questions as yours could only be answered with speculation from those not directly involved couldn't they? or at least I'd hope so. Funny as ever though. Use lots of small weapons against lots of people: maybe passing comment on ongoing wars. Use one very large weapon to attack a few hard-to-reach people: OH MY GOD! THE END TIMES! Some of the Twatter chatter from instant experts on this thing has been really quite entertaining. Wonder if there's also a weapon called Ammon...
