I'm doing a bit of research on an unmarked grave in France, and it might belong to an American soldier, but I don't have the full information. Sadly there's nothing like the CWGC in the US it seems, so I'm looking for a list of casualties. One was supposed to have been compiled but I can't find it online. Would anyone happen to know where it might reside?
Well I don't see a way to do it directly but if you put in an Information Request at the US Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office asking for all MIAs on 6 June 1944 (or a date range) from ETO they might be able to come up with that list. http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/wwii/reports/ Or you could go through their list one letter and one service at a time looking for 6 June 1944 and then try and figure out which ones are from ETO vice elsewhere. Sorry no easy answer I could find.
