US Army Bicycles?

Having looked at a large number of US Army TO&E and Landing Tables I have noticed a total lack of mentions of bicycles. I find that they did exist but were they used in front line units? British bikes were used in most units, and were issued in some numbers to follow up troops on D Day. They were also used by airborne units. Has anyone come across mentions in US service?

I've never seen them mentioned on T/Os that I can recall, not for the 1942-45 issues at any rate. You may have also noticed a similar absence of motorcycles once you get past the 1942 T/Os.

Lots of locally procured ones on USAAF bases in UK, of course.

Thank you both. I suppose the Jeep replaced the motorcycle but the peddle bike seems a useful item for orderlies etc. Perhaps the bike was not a part of US culture in the way it was in Europe.

I do have a mention of two motorcycles being carried on LST 288 bound for Omaha on D Day.
