Harton in South Shields is a sprawling cemetery which was bombed during the war. Sad to say it wasnt the war which was responsible for the most recent damage. This was sent to me this morning the grave of Pte John Durkin

Whilst not ideal I messed about with the original so his `virtual` headstone is in better condition than his `physical` one

Weather permitting, I'll go and look for the Preston headstone on Friday; put me down for the Skerton/Lancaster one too, I'll go there the following week if I can.

    Preston.

The family has placed another stone in front of the CWGC headstone and the flowers can't be moved but I managed to get a photo of most of the inscription which appears to be
    RESTING
    WHERE NO SHADOWS FALL
    LET PERPETUAL LIGHT
    SHINE UPON HIM

Let me know if you'd like the photos emailed.
