Hi can anyone confirm what uniform this is raf? rank?even loction any help appriciated thanks.
Going by the text on the right in the sign above 'Tonight' I believe its Arabic. Unsure what the text on the left is (Persian?). He also appears to be wearing Corporal's stripes.
Ok thanks what uniform would you say?so that wouldn't be in burma?
The left hand writing is Hindi and the other while an Arabic script is probably Urdu. NW India would be most likely but the two languages were used across India at the time.
Especially when you look more closely at the 'local' to the left hand side behind the subject
Concur on the above after a second and closer look. The darker shade of the forage cap may be RAF, another example sen in the attached photo that came from A Daily Mail article.
