Has the tank the bra appliqué armour front of its smoke grenade launchers? So is it T-62M and so immune to early portable AT weapons up to M72A3 LAW and RPG-7 firing from its front sector. But after all we; the Finnish soldiers, were trained almost 50 years ago that when using our 55 S 55 recoilless anti-tank weapon against T-54s, -55s or -62s, only flank and rear shots, no use to fire from the front.

I thought the video above was going to be out of date and boring but on the contrary, it closes the gap mentioned by RUSI that everyone is giving synopsis as to how the RA has stalled but nothing about the situation regarding the UA.
Some of it I found alarmingly frank and wonder if the Austrians have revealed too much. Western Military commentators have for some time been urging the UA to withdraw from Sievierodonetsk or risk losing significant numbers of men. one of their main assets.

I've viewed a few of these Austrian briefings and wonder why the only, official public product so far - here in the UK - are tweeted DIS briefings and usually one at a time.

Directly on the front line, M and MV versions seem to have been deployed. Otherwise they might as well have sent the T-55, too.
However, the LPR/DPR militias in the rear are also equipped with T-62 basic models.

The Brits eschewed from holding salients after their Great War experience.

I've been wondering for a while now if the Ukrainian General Staff are not making an error in making such a major committment to holding on in Luhansk Oblast.
I guess the advantages outweigh the losses the Ukrainians are suffering there.

Still, it has become abundantly clear that victory in Ukraine is no longer in Russia's hands.

In Severodonetsk, both sides claim they control 70-90% of the city.
Which, from experience, means that 70-90% of the city is a completely confusing battle zone where no one has a clear picture

I just heard on tv that a Ukrainian cafe has named a croissant after Boris.
    :)

'Boris Johnson is not just a prime minister but is also now a croissant'

Just looking for a Ukrainian restaurant locally to see if I could buy one
The menu mentions another thing that was mentioned before but still with the old spelling

I must say big cup of tea required
The pastry is described as “a croissant pastry crust, with custard vans, baked apples, Italian meringue and the final touch – a vat of old school ice cream on gumballs. And a charismatic croissant!”

A serious reflective article on a US website by a ret'd US Army veteran, which poses several difficult questions for our (friends of Ukraine) political and military leaders: Would We Do Better? Hubris and Validation in Ukraine - War on the Rocks

    A "taster":
    Then IMHO an "ouch":

Professor Lawrence Freedman, Kings College London, has an excellent article 'Spirits of the Past'. See: Spirits of the Past

He provides his reflected views on the limits to military power, with eight rules:
    Then adds a ninth:

Putin is working in his office on planning the Ukraine war when suddenly the ghost of Stalin appears. Putin takes the opportunity to seek advice: "Stalin, what happened? Why are things not going well for me?"
Stalin says: "No problem, just send million Russians to their death and paint the Kremlin blue."
    "Why blue?" asks Vladimir Putin.
Stalin exhales with relief: "Forget the stupid colour - what matters is that you have no problem with the first part" ....
