Suddenly Aircraft appeared overhead so the driver quickly pulled over into the shadow of the hedge while most of the crew had kept their eyes glued to the sky, ready to take shelter should the aircraft dive to attack them. This SdKfz is towing a 75mm PAK 40. 2. A close up. This cap can be seen at the front of the half track with his pipe. A unit from 9. SS-Panzer-Division. This particular SdKfz 251 appears to be armed with a 28mm schwere Panzerbuchse 41, an anti-tank gun which had a bore tapering from 28mm at the chamber to 20mm at the muzzle which had the effect of increasing the velocity of the round.
