The Story of the RASC 1939-45

Thanks for that , Dad served in the RASC (North Africa & Italy), that's now gone on my wanted books list

 

For anyone later finding this thread:
I have copies of the first edition, but only chapters Pt VI Western Mediterranean - North Africa (only, not Gib or Malta) pp221-248; Pt VII The Central Mediterranean - Italy pp249-286, Greece 1944 pp287-297, which I'm happy to dig out, if of help. However, please use the Hathi Trust search first as the index is not by unit below division and I will not be looking through everything. I'll see if the mods will let me post them here given copyright. If it's not in the pages above I won't have it as I only took photos of a library copy for the bits I needed (Dorset or Somerset libraries have a first edition reservable via LibrariesWest if a member of BANES, Bristol, South Glos, North Somerset, Dorset, Somerset, and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council areas)

THIS WILL ONLY TELL YOU WHAT PAGES THE WORD APPEARS ON, but will at least let you know if your unit is mentioned by name. Obviously at least one of the entries may be the index entry, and if a unit number, the page number and any pages in the index that refer to that page number. I've had a library copy recently, and the units are not normally individually referred to in the Index so searching online will help in any case, Their website is currently down for maintenance.

Do not expect a detailed organisational tree or breakdown of all companies. Many are mentioned alongside their divisions if on active service, but little detail is provided (except those above)
