He came out as a Sergeant after twelve years, most of it on active service in various parts of the world. Including the jungles of Borneo and Sarawak. He was fired from his job for theft to feed a gambling habit, got a job as a lorry driver and went to gaol for robbery. He just couldn't settle down to mundane civilian life. This was not uncommon, so one wonders what happened to these lads.
