Sorry I've not read through all the links in this thread - is there a way of finding out whether bombs were dropped in London on a particular day, from 20-22nd July 1941?

    Try bombsight

    Owen -- --- -.. MOD

I was going to suggest that but their data ends with 6 June 1941.

Data: Bomb Sight - Mapping the World War 2 London Blitz Bomb Census

Thanks, that seems to end in June 41 though. There was apparently a Bomb Census project that covered to 1945 but that is only at the National Archive.

There is a book mapping London but out of print and very expensive if found
As you say Bomb Census survey records 1940-1945 - The National Archives

however if you search cwgc for civilian casualties mostly it gives in which street they died

pete wood forum member has done a lot of work on civilian casualties

Thanks - rather cheerily for this website it's not about a death but someone who was allegedly born during an air raid, so I was just trying to corroborate that story. :)

Will see if there was anything about bombing in the local newspapers around that time.

if you state date and area then we might be able to assist

Dates as per the OP, 20-22nd July 1941, and likely just south of the river in Southwark, maybe Bermondsey area.

checked all the civilian deaths and closest is Poplar in the East End
not to say there was bombing though
    but nothing wide scale
could be sirens went and as ever people thought there was a raid when they were born
