This is the latest edition published earlier this year.
1st Edition published 2008
2nd Edition published 2019

According to Stephane - who I met in Tilly in June - the new 2019 edition contains updated information and also a few dozen extra pages. I've not been able to compare the two editions as I don't have access to the 1st Edition. It's a 'heavyweight' book so falls quite properly into the 'reference book' category rather than the 'easy reading' category. Something to dip into and out of as the case may be.

 

I find that French or German books in France and Germany sell for quite a lot less than the crazy UK/US Amazon computer-generated prices. Every time you do a search on an old book you up its price.

 

The new edition is currently on sale in Normandy for 59 Euros .

That's what I paid for mine (Heimdal stall at the Tilly sur Seulles book fair 9th June 2019)

 

The copy I have which I bought in 2015 has the German tank on the front cover.
I bought it at the tilly museum and I think I paid €45 or €49 and your definitely right Steve it's such a big well written book that I'm sure if I read it cover to cover I'd forget the beginning by the time I got to the end

 

Recently saw this version - albeit an "old item" from 2012, I think...

Other than the title(s) I'm not sure it's entirely clear how these relate to Tilly-sur-Seulles...

Presumably there was some basic research done and parts of this were added to an existing game engine.

The fight for Tilly-sur-Seulles was one of the most costly battles during the entire Normandy campaign. The heavily defended village changed hands several times before troops from the 50th Division, 56th Brigade and 8th Armoured Brigade captured it on 18 June. Despite this, fighting continued nearby until mid-July.

I realise that this is an old thread but I have not been able to get hold of either edition of the book as they are so expensive. Would you be able to tell me whether there is any mention of an RAMC Casualty Clearing Station at the site where the Jerusalem War Cemetery now located - between Tilly and Bayeux? I am also trying to confirm whether Monty also presented medals there. Any information would be much appreciated.

I'm trying to find out details of the service of my Great Uncle, Pte. Thomas F Payne, 7370512, A Company, 200th Field Ambulance, RAMC, in the Battle for Normandy. I know that A Company of the 200th Fd. Amb. appear in a IWM video of a CCS, which states that it was taken near Buceels:

Stephane is quite active on Facebook via various Groups.
There was a Medical facility at Jerusalem; I understand it was in the area around the building and next to what is now the CWGC Cemetery.
I’ve checked Stephane’s book and can’t find any information that would help answer your questions.
