Hello everybody! I am new in this forum and maybe somebody can help me: I am looking for information on the different vehicles and tanks which landed on Sword Beach in the first hours of the landings, e.g. which kind of tanks were transported in what kind of landing craft/landing ship? I do know about the DDs but I couldn't find any information on the different kind of "Funnies" landed by the the 79th Armoured Division. I also couldn't find information about the SP Artillery - what kind of types (Sexton/M7/Centaur) were involved? Does anybody could give me these infos? Thanks Johannes
Welcome Johannes, I have spent more than 9 months studying Sword beach on D Day and can answer your question. There is too much information for me to post here so I will find another method. Not today. Maybe not tomorrow. Mike
