Hello All, This is a first message for me having just moved to St. Valery en Caux. I've been fired by the fact that a distant cousin was captured here in 1940. Before arriving it was an unknown fact for me. Over the last weeks I've gathered as much knowledge about what happened that June and am now trying to find out about my relative Jack Malin. I don't think that he was with the Highland Division, but linked in some way, possibly with the Royal Artillery or East Surrey's. Can someone help to put me in the right direction to find out more about him and his life in captivity? Many thanks in advance. Les

Hi Les - Welcome to the Forum. I was about to put a link in, but Verrieres just beat me to it. I was looking at the second of the links he gave you and there are recollections by other POW's and some useful photos. Good luck in your search.
Welcome to the forum Les. Lovely part of France to move too. There's quite a bit of info on the forum about St-Valery, hope you enjoy reading about it.

British, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand. Seems it was what it was all about. Bloody good team! Peter Clare may be able to add some detail. 97sq - 11/7/1942
Les, Welcome to the forum. I wish you well on your search, which looks like you are well on track. Tom
