This newspaper article, “The Man Who Watches Over a Battlefield,” tells the story of Mr Butt, a British veteran who settled in Normandy after the Second World War and dedicated his life to helping families visiting the graves of British soldiers. Living near the cemetery of St Charles de Percy, he shared his knowledge of the battlefield and of the men who fell there.
