Was everyone awarded special proficiency pay after 3 years’ service, or did you have to be above average / highly performing? Thank you
A previous ww2t thread: Tradesman Pay S.S.P. it seems, was paid at the discretion of the Officer Commanding after completing three years' service. However the postings on the previous thread above, seem to be regarding Canadian Army rules. Looking online with other search engines, there is some doubt about SSP being related to Tradesmen's Pay in the British Army. Perhaps other members with knowledge of pay regulations might be able to clarify this.
