Just finished reading Beevor's book on the Spanish Civil War and in one of the wash-up chapters says that a 'company of Spanish republicans fought with Colonel Robert Laycock's commandos in the final phase of the battle of Crete'..... Anyone got any idea of their numbers, how they were recruited, what they did, effectiveness etc etc.....
