Sonny Fox was a beloved TV kids show host in the fifties and sixties in America. His shows were live broadcasts from New York city with a new bunch of local kids for each show. He just passed away at 95.

I never knew he was a POW. Really good interview.

Great interview. This guy should be an actor!
At the end of the interview he stated something like:"I changed, I am a different person now."
That impressed me, what positive statement following his time as a POW incl. meeting SS men.

Pity, so few Ex- prisoners did go for interviews like that. And now, few are still around

    Stefan.

He had a very popular kids TV show in New York City for many years. You were considered very lucky if you ever got picked to be on it. Everybody loved him.

Found this one when he had Robert Kennedy on answering questions from kids. Another time.

"He's not Hebrew." Total innocence :)

From Wikipedia. " He joined the army in 1943 and served in the World War II in England and France. He was taken a prisoner of war by the German forces in the Battle of the Bulge.[5] His life was saved by Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds saying, "We're all Jews" when the Nazi officers demanded that all Jewish prisoners of war be pointed out.[5] In a separate event, an American clerk at the camp marked him as a Protestant rather than Jewish, when Jewish prisoners were identified and sent to a slave labor camp in Berga, in Germany.[4]" Everyday bravery from ordinary people.

Roddie Edmonds is worth looking up as well.
