i understand that this aerplane was Italy's best torpedo bomber, even better that it's replacement the twin tailed SM84. Here is an interesting picture of one SM79 Italian Torpedo Bomber, that did not make it:

SM84 had twin rudders, like second batch of Alcione It was a requirement from Air Ministry for easy tail defence. Cant z 1007
