Hi Jim, I've adjusted the title of the thread to open it up for additions such as the one you have added today. Thanks for posting.

That is very much appreciated Steve. You didn't have to dear chap, many, many thanks to you nonetheless; again, it is truly appreciated.

    Kind regards, always,

    Jim.

    Hi Jim,
this makes me even more wanting to go on a small expedition ship by e.g. Hurtigruten and see the Antarctica before even more is melting away.
Should we organize a WW2 Talk expedition?
    Stefan.

Hello Stefan; Apologies for server shenanigans late reply.

A fantastic sentiment, a lovely thought on your part. But alas now beyond me at my time of life.

I content myself with these, a hand me down of my father's, a gift for him before he'd reached his teens, from his father. They are the closest I'll get to the region again.

Amundsen, Scott, Shackleton. They and their men, heroes all of a bygone age.

Kind regards, always remember, never forget,

    Jim.

Fascinating that someone is trying to do the same expedition today.
Same route, similar ship, except with more technology. Still, would I like to be in the team?

    Stefan.
