    A metal plaque titled: ''The Air War in South East Asia 1941-1945'' can be found affixed to
    the left of Column 449 of the Singapore Memorial, CWGC Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore. (2 images attached)

    It provides a summary of the Air War from December 1941 to December 1944, and goes on to mention a total of 2973 airmen who died in operations over Burma, South East Asia and the Pacific and whose graves are unknown.

    By countries, the names comprise: 2453 British, 191 Canadian, 208 Australian, 61 New Zealand, 5 South African, 49 Indian and 6 Malayan.
