One of the most poignant messages sent to the troops I have read in several books about what happened in France and Flanders in 1940. I'm pleased to say I've just read the original recorded in a I Corps file (WO 167/124) that is a record of all telephone conversations. The details are as follows: Serial: 207 Date: 20.05.40 Time: 1000 hrs From: I Corps Received: Divs. Message reads: "News from the south re-assuring. Stand and Fight. Tell your men."
