I put this file together a number of years back. It may provide a starting point for your research.

The Giving Years Shetland and Shetlanders, 1939 - 1945 by James W. Irvine is an excellent book about wartime Shetland. It contains a photo of Ness of Sound (Lerwick) gun emplacements.

The HAA locations are from AA Command – Britain’s Anti-Aircraft Defences of the Second World War, Colin Dobinson and the Coast Batteries from History of Coast Artillery in the British Army,
Col KW Maurice-Jones DSO plus various local history and archaeological articles from the web. Some of these are suggested in your other thread. As far as possible the locations are also confirmed by using the Extended Defence of Britain overlay on Google Earth.

Hi Derek that is a very detailed map, could i ask a few questions. L1 would this be next to what seems to be two concrete air raid shelters near the beach at Sands of Sound in Lerwick. Also are you aware of a gun emplacement, which is not on your map, close to Staney hill, the base is still there (for the time being). Also lastly, i think this is a very important map and if you agree I would like to include in a book i am writing- giving you full credit. Many thanks

I would also be interested in where you found the information on the `wall' inside Sandy Loch in Lerwick
