    Hi all

I've attached my grandads service record and would appreciate someone having a look at it please and answering a couple of questions I have as Im new to this.

He was a gunner with the Royal artillery searchlight battery throughout the whole of WW2.

Can someone translate the following entry please; 12/3/44 " TO AACWOUM 112/MISC/3957 (AGIB) 5.10.43

An entry on 31/1/43 states "Relinquishes at his own request trade appointment of SLO etc"
Why would someone want to give up a particular role (He was a searchlight operator) Might it be so he could go elsewhere?

that entry AACOUM - is th gibberish from head office to the clerk to DO what is necessary- i e
demote him on his own decision- not necessarily to go elsewhere - probably just fed up with the job

    cheers

Any chance you can rotate the pages the correct way around?

Thanks for those answers. I suspected as much about resigning his post.

When you open the attachment open the 'view' tab at the top of the screen and it should give you the option to rotate the page. If not let me know and i'll re scan them.
