Has anyone come across the above chap in their travels through WW1 books and research?

I am led to believe he was awarded a Distinguished Conduct Medal and then later a bar for his first. There is a rumour that if his OC wasn't killed one of them may have ended up a VC.

    Ring any bells?

I've checked LG for citations but drew a blank

    Cheers

Found these two chaps in the West Yorkshire Regiment. As you'll see, one of them has a DCM. Doesn't appear to be a service record.

Cheers Paul....That helps to narrow down the search a bit but still no joy.

Is there a possibility he was awarded a clasp but it could have been missed off his medal roll?

The MICs rarely mention bars to gallantry awards.

I found a DCM card for him, with just an initial. No indication of a Bar.
