Good morning. He wrote his name and servicenumber in a churchbook with psalms and hymnes on 28.04.1945 in a small village called Oosterwijtwerd in the northern part of the Netherlands. Presumed he was in the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment. Perhaps relatives may appreciate it having the book as a keepsake. Best Regards.
Service No B102544 shows he joined in Eastern Ontario, and he originally was assigned this number at A9 CAC(A) Training Center
RCAC = Royal Canadian Armoured Corps (Royal Prefix given to CAC just before end of war). The Sherbrooke Fusiliers were part of the Canadian Armoured Corps. Sherbrooke_Hussars 21 AGP = could be the British 21st Army Group. It fought in NW Europe 1944-45 and contained Canadian Forces. In August 1945 converted to be the British Army of the Rhine.
Next question: You have information about his enlisting I presume. Do you have date and place of birth? Might be helpful for downtracing his civil life after war. Thanks in advance for a reaction.
