    I'm trying to create a little potted history of my grandfather's time in the Scots Guards and need guidance. I want to order the War Diary: 2 Scots Guards 1939 Aug.- 1940 December. How much does it roughly cost to order it from The National Archives? I live in Bulgaria so a visit is out of the question.

    DBF thank you so much for uploading the War Diary: 2nd Battalion SCOTS GUARDS, Jan - Dec 1941. My grandfather was shot in early January 1942 and then transferred to L Detachment in May after he recovered so that has been really helpful.

    Glad the diary was useful.


    I've no idea how much TNA currently charge but to give you an idea - I once ordered 3 months of an IG diary and it cost me more than a whole year's worth of diary via a researcher.

    There are folks on here who go to Kew quite regularly and might also have options for digital copies, downloads etc.
    Someone may even have a copy already.
    I'll split your post and create a new thread for the Diary enquiry, with details in title to attract attention.
