Hi, I have joined because I'm very eager to find out about my Grandads movements during WW2. He was a carpenter by trade and was in the Royal Engineers. I have always been told that he went over on D-Day and was involved in building the pontoon bridges and in mine clearing. Apparently he was in Brussels at some point. I have also been told that he was at Belsen. He survived the war and sadly died 30 years ago. He wouldn't talk about his experiences in the war. His name was Fred Hartley. If anyone has any info at all I would be very grateful :)
