Royal Engineers And The Rhine Crossing

    30000 tons of RE stores, 19000 feet of Bailey for 16 bridges. 1125 miles of piping was used to transfer petrol to Eindhoven, 4 forestry companies were operating in Belgium, numerous airfields, railways and dewatering were required for Operation Plunder.

    Where are all these assets now?
    Did they come from Div, Corps, Army or Army Groups?
    How many bridges can we put in today?
    Are we vunerable without these supply of stores?

    Third Div was put in charge of the Rhine crossing, my company palyed a major role in that operation.
    I dont quite understand your posting..What do you want to know?

    Hi,

    Am doing a presentation as part of a battlefield on Op Plunder, the Bailey Br's, stores amounts etc are topics I have to cover and I can't find anything on the net am after some depth.
