Royal Artillery. How do find an army number or regiment?

    Hi there. I do think this is Albert because he did die in Plymouth on Aug 28th 1956.
    I have put some more info about him with these two photos. I can’t thank you enough for continuing to search for me.

    Everyone likes helping mate it is not a problem at all
    Members on here are really helpful
    I would say your best bet is still the service records route

    he was of an age where he could have served (photo shows it)

    as stated call and email them

    Well you have

    date of birth
    date of death
    application in for service records
    so you have done all you can do unless her other family members come up with any documents or photos

    My friend supplied me with all this info. I can’t believe how hard it has been to track someone in the Army. I have managed both my Dads (Royal Marine) and 2 grandads (Navy) but this is so difficult.

    to be fair if it had not been for the pandemic your friend would have received an answer from Glasgow one way or the other
    As stated
    They have supplied the info to gain service records from Glasgow and now a chase up is required but i feel there could still be a long wait
