Ribbon bar? medal Identification help

Hello,

I know this may be an impossible question considering the image is black and white. But can anyone identify this medal ribbon bar? I thought the first 2 might be 1939-1945 star and then the Africa star? Grateful for any thoughts.

What I think you have Rebecca are (L to R) the 1939-45 Star, the Africa Star and the Defence Medal. I assume the diagonal feature in the 1939-45 Star ribbon is some sort of defect in the original print.



There would also have been an entitlement to the War Medal I believe.

 

His service records should tell you which medals he earnt, you could also ask the MOD medal office for confirmation. For eligibility check out the MOD web site - Medals: campaigns, descriptions and eligibility
