The Germans reported that the ship sank immediately after being hit ahead of the bridge and amidships, leaving only a patch of oil and wreckage on the surface. The victim must have been the Miraflores (Master Robert Thompson), which was expected in New York the next day but did not arrive and was reported missing thereafter. The master and 33 crew members were lost. Crew list - Crewlist from Miraflores (British steam merchant) - Ships hit by German U-boats during WWII - uboat.net
