Thanks for enlightening me, you photographers. My daughter has always said she preferred her Pentax to the digital camera Alas, she doesn't get to mess around in a dark room now she's exchanged college for changing nappies!
They're all members of the Luftwaffe decorated with the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. All but one of them are Officers and pilots. The exception is the Oberfeldwebel, 3rd from right, who appears to be a Flak NCO. Although, I could be wrong about his branch assignment.
The picture is one of highly decorated Luftwaffe Knights Cross winners Jagdflieger , Kampflieger and Flakartillerie , not one of Generals, the paper has just used any old photo they could find which is typical of the journalists and or researchers of the British press !! They should get a job with the History channel.
The guy in the middle looks like Werner Molders and someone else off another board thinks that the guy on the left in profile is Adolf Galland (Not sure about that) but that middle could well be molders.

I can see where you're coming from but I don't think it's Mölders, for one thing he should be wearing a Spanish Cross on his lower right top pocket, and wasn't awarded a German Cross either. Not Galland either.
I was looking at a picture of Gunther Rall as I thought he might be the central figure... then I thought he might be the next bloke... then eventually they all looked a bit like him. Hopeless .
Nah, he's the stripogram, the chap 5th from the left is the birthday boy - hence his look of apprehension.
Adolf the Cleaner runs through the induction process for wiping the floor to the new reichs janitors!!
My 6 penith worth the guy far left looks like Garland to me (High hair line, bulging cheeks and eyebrows) and I would think they have all just recieved the same decoration and are have a less formal moment with the Fuhrer. Interesting photo for sure. As for the Mail and the story.....I trust the Sunday Sport more and that has more fake breats than the Chicken section in Netto Cheers Andy
Ref this story I have just seen a advert on The Military Channel and there is a new series coming soon called 'The Wermacht' amongst over things it claims that the British bugged all the High Ranking German staff when they were taken PoW and will play the tapes revealing just how much they new about the Holocaust. Cheers Andy
