Some times in life, I'm still amazed has to what books you find on the internet by various booksellers in different Countries. Ok, some of them do take a liberty in shipping to another Country these days! Why? Only they have a answer for that. Stay away from them. Including shipping it cost me only (£38.50). Blimey- (that is cheap if another copy can be found)? This book has in total 261 pages and is a paperback. The sketch maps, Illustrations, are rather good seeing has It was first went to print in 1984? The narrative is in diary form, Route Lists, Maps, and the contents page are a ready reference for dates, places and major items in each period.

A HISTORY OF THE 7 FIELD COMPANY RE 1939-1946 'QUO FAS et GLORIA ducunt' By Thomas M J Riordan. See the files below. I will really look forward to reading this book when winter kicks in (and the world has to use candles instead of turning the lights on to save money). I will need my specs on to read it even in daylight. That is my only complaint about it. How the hell they managed to fit all the detail in such a small book is beyond me when it was first printed? Hats off to them.. Notice the Published Price plus Postage and Packing. £6.50 in total.

Some threads about these chaps will be about. Not had the chance to look for them and read.

    Regards,
    Stu.

I came across this book a while back which has two volumes. The second tomb being there time in France. I think it was printed in 1946? I bought both volumes before asking the chap who was selling them to send me some photos of there condition. What a mistake that was. Stuart, you was a dipstick. It appears to me that they may have been rescued from some kind of fire. They are charred in parts. The hassle I've had in trying to buy Volume 1 has much tested my patience.

Is this book biased? I've no idea as Its in French text and (they me be blowing there own trumpet in parts)? Probably, and why not? Perhaps Pieter, aka stolpi may be able to give his thoughts on these volumes if he has bought them? I'm not sure if any maps came with them? The sketches are nicely done in colour & black and white. I've not a clue who the artist was? He has done them well and there are many.

I have managed to buy a copy of this rare book on the 27 August, 2022. Est. Del. Date being (11 Oct, 2022). The shipping cost being £15.98 only. Its coming from France (has I pointed that out to the bookseller this morning). Its not being shipped from Istanbul. Hello Mr French chap, do get a wiggle on has you have taken my hard earned cash (just in case you had not realised the latter). See files below.

Do I need this book translating? In time.

    Regards,
    Stu.

Stu - You will not regret having bought this book - provided it is readable (not too charred). Re the French language - buy a good dictionary (I used several, among which the Penguin French Dictionary).

The book appeared in 1945 and obviously is glowing at the Algerian division's performance. As long as you are aware of that, it provides a lot of detailed (tactical) information.

My copy (a later reprint) doesn't come with maps - so if you have any please 'beam' them over.

These books do not have any maps in both volumes. Why? Perhaps they thought did need not to have any? I've never known that before with any Division of any Country that served in the Italian Campaign. Or, any other campaign in WW2. I would of beamed them over. Both volumes are readable. I got rid of the second one. Looking back, that was rather foolish on my part. It was much more charred than the first one. Here is another book that I came across that I knew nothing at all.o_O Bingo. Its been translated.:D;):smug:

Indescribable Ordeal. The History of the German 65 Infantry Division 1942-1945 Michael A. Dorosh. I think he's Canadian? This book is probably a little expensive. At A4 size, and hardback its worth it for me. Shop about for a cheaper copy. Amazon may be? This book has 518 pages (only). I never new that the Germans called the Flyover (Kimme) in the Anzio Campaign. Its on page 163.. And yes, I've looked up what Kimme means in English. This comes across has a book that anyone should have in there collection. Its Fabulous. Not seen one or two photos about the Anzio Campaign before that he has used.;)

To be fair, it is quite a weighty tome.
