This weather brings out the bare footed elephant fungus toed types in sandals Sitting opposite one on the underground is not pleasant
I remember the heatwave of 1976 which lasted about two months, there was drought, hosepipe bans, lots of people with their water cut off. This will be all over by Wednesday. At this moment that does sound like heaven though.
I live a few miles from Heathrow, always a hot part of town on days like today. My car temp is currently 39 degrees C. This however is not stopping the builders next door excavating a new waste water pipe in our shared drive!
I have tickets for Shepherds Bush Empire tonight and being an idiot, I'm still going to head in. Should lose a stone in weight.
Enjoy the gig. Sounds like the support band are aptly named for today’s weather. Could do with losing a stone myself.
About 17 degrees maximum on the Finnish-Russian border today. Very cloudy. That hill in the distance is in Russia. First time I've seen any part of that country.
Very disappointing. Temperature here peaked at 32. No disasters. Nothing to laugh at at all. Mike PS. Got my first Christmas brochure in the post last week. Only five months to go.
Hi Mike A bit hotter here in Lincolnshire, the humidity is no fun either. At least we don't need the central heating on . Lesley
Not only London apparently. Posted on BBC Weather site. Picture taken in Adel, Leeds, this afternoon. Mike
Honour restored. We both been jumping in the lake & swimming tonight. Not too chilly in the lake either considering it's only 15°C here.
