Hi , I am currently researching a soldier of the Royal Army Medical Corps who embarked for England on the 19/6/40,my question is were members of the RAMC held back after Dunkirk to tend to the wounded or was it a case of evasion, thanks, regards Paul

Operation Aerial, the evacuation from north western France, 15-25 June 1940, (Blog without any attributions). If this information is valid, the date indicates Brest or Bayonne for 19 June. Dunkirk was a German holiday resort by then, if you look at the various Dunkirk photograph threads on this website, you can see many of the holiday pics that were being sent home by the victorious German soldiers.
