Can anyone help? I am trying to help the local mairie of Houville en Vexin to build up a profile on pilot officer Kenneth Kirkcaldie, RAFVR 72526 of 32 Squadron. He crashed on June 8th 1944, dying in the crash. I want to build up a profile on his personal life, service records etc. Can anyone help? Cheers, Alex.
Like a muppet I put the wrong year, it should have been 1940... Plum that I am. As I am going to Kew next week to view something else, where would I find his service records? Would they be at Kew if he was a Kiwi?
As RAFVR his service record is with the MoD. You can request a copy for £30 from RAF Disclosures at Cranwell. Fill in the forms you can find at UK.GOV with a Google/Bing search. You will find his Casualty File at Kew Pilot Officer K Kirkcaldie: report of death; Hurricane N2406 crashed at... | The National Archives Ross
