I might be going, Andy, as it's only really down the road and I've been to the last three or four in a row. Not sure thou as last year was such a disappointment.

What was so dissapointing about it?

Its years since I have been to a big show. When my brother was based at Finningly (Now Robin Hood Airport (???) we used to go there, Waddington and Church Fenton... but that was when the Vulcan, Lightning, Phantom, and Buccaneer used to make regular apearances, when the Tornado was still on the drawing board, and when dinosaurs still ruled the Earth! ;)

Spent tooooo long in Cornwall and only had RNAS Culdrose to visit.....

Well, the Vulcan was a no-show. That only left a few AEW flypasts, a handful of helicopters, the Red Arrows and the BoB flight to look forward to. Highlight for me was the Vampire.

Quite a poor show. Not sure if I can be bothered again this year.

There you go, my sentiments exactly.
With the Vulcan not flying there was nothing to take it's place.
Be also nice to see more WWII aircraft - flying or static.

    Andy, I'll PM you.

Isn't the Vulcan airworthy now? Is it going to appear anywhere? I might be tempted as I have relations in Metheringham. Have sat at the end of the runway in the past eating burger van burgers watching jets of some sort mince about.

Is it an absolute bastard to visit by car?
Just wondering, as I've seen the queues at some airshows and there's a reasonable public transport option.

M/Bikes are always a good option at these type of events assuming the weather will be nice :)

If you get there early enough then getting in is pretty easy, A. But if you stay towards the end then getting out could take a good while.
The last few years we've left early but missed the Typhoon's display but we were home in good time.
Never used the public transport option but park and ride could be ok.
