For those interested in the war in Cornwall then this may be of interest. It is more than your traditional RAF base history as it sets the aerodrome in its local context with looking at the anti-invasion defences, the Home Guard, air raids, etc.

I was stationed at RAF Portreath, running the ops flight there, from 1991 to 93. I can see I'm going to have to invest in the book!

Most definitely. It is required reading for anyone who has anything to do with RAF Portreath and cheaper than a takeaway meal!!
Full respect to you for your service on the base.

I had a blast - one of my favourite tours (I did 32 years in the end) - and the locals were very friendly! I was posted there from East Scotland, where the locals were anything but! :D Very fond memories of my short time there.
