    Hi all,

i'm looking for any information on my Uncle who was based at Elsham Wolds airfield from: 24th Nov 1943.
He was with 103 Squadron and flew out on the 26-27th nov to berlin on Lancaster JB527 PM-b with the following crew:-

    F/o R E V Pugh DFM
    SGT P A Barnes
    F/O D S Thom RAAF
    SGT G W Prescott - My Uncle
    F/O M H King
    SGT A Mavromatis
    F/O G Booth.

Their plane crashed at Ahrensfelde some 14 km NE of berlin. All the crew were buried in the city's 1939-1945 War cemetary
    in Berlin.

I am looking for any photos or documents of my uncle or he's crew that might of been based at Elsham wolds at that time.
And any photos of their Lancaster or the news clipping of where it was gazetted of the loss of the crew.

    Hello and welcome,

Follow the link http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/search/index.aspx and select Search the collection and then enter 410271 (F/O Thom's service number) in the keyword box and then search. On the results page click on the digitised item icon you should then see the Repatriation file for F/O Thom in which you may well find mention of your uncle.

My friend, John Lowrie, served in 103 Squadron and flew on that mission. Later, when on operations with 69 Squadron his Lancaster NC607 was shot down near Roermond on the 23 January 1945.

My website in tribute to him refers to missions carried out by 103 Squadron.

    Joe Brown.

I have had a look at your website about John Lowrie. Excellent stuff. Great tribute!
