Good day all, I'm trying to find some information for a friend, who's Grandfather was with the 82nd Airborne Division, Richard Richardson ( Rick, Ricky) aged 21 in 1944 from Chicago, Illinois. Didn't go overseas until December 1944. Any pointers in the right direction or further information would be greatly appreciated. Regards. Llew.
Hi Llew Do you know if the family of your friend have applied for his service records? Otherwise that might be the way to go. A quick search of the NARA enlistment records shows the only Richard Richardson's found in Illinois were from Preoria. One was 35 years old in 1944 the other 24. No Richard (Rick, Ricky) Richardsons in Chicago.
