Query on sniping by Western Desert Force

Is anyone aware of the use of snipers in the early desert engagements, June 1940 till March 1941. I have not been able to find any reference in War Diaries or histories of units. Not sure there was any organised use of snipers, I certainly cannot find anything.

Can't recall seeing anything in that line for the 1941 war diaries.

Clearly snipers were part of the establishment of British (presumably Commonwealth too) infantry units. See Post 11 in: Dads Army:Weapons
