    Hello,

A friend bought a job lot of medals and amongst them is what looks like a commerative medal of some sort. It is silver, the same circumference as a standard issue medal but wider at 4mm.

It doesn't have the regimental badge depicted but in the centre is a lion over the Kings crown surrounded by 1st Bn Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment. It is unnamed and the other side is plain with no writing. It has a medal ring hook attached.

It would be appreciated if anyone could identify it and the reason for issue.

    Thank you.

WW2 medals didn't have the names engraved, unlike WW1 I believe.

Thanks for your replies. It is not an issued campaign medal. It doesn't have the regimental badge displayed, it's a lion over the kings crown as though it's issued via the MOD. I will organise a photo. Cheers

This may or may not be helpful, but the collar dog (at least the officer's collar dog) of the West Kents was indeed the lion over crown, so there is a connection with the regiment.
