    Hi all,

my grandfather served in WW2 in queens bays and passed away sadly october last year he was 80. Am researching loads of information on his ww2 experiences, life and stories he told me over a period of years before he passed.

Looking forward to finding some great information and maybe photo's.

RIP Sergeant Jack Tebbutt, A squadron Queens bays 2nd dragoon guards.

If he joined the Bays at 14 in 1936 then he must have been 90 last year - as you know the Bays served in 2nd Bde of 1st Armoured division all through the desert until El Hamma -and the final push to finish that campaign then were left there in Tunisia for a year before being called forward to Italy where they didn't do so well and were broken up in the Oct '44

    Cheers

    Welcome Jonathan,

My Grandfather also served with the Bays, joining them after Alamein. He was with "C" Squadron.

I knew a chap called Jack Bailey. I believe that he was an officer in the Bays.
Unfortunately also no longer with us.
    Anyone heard of him?
